Paul, Apostle of Christ Movie in Theaters March 23

Paul, Apostle of Christ is a new full length feature film for viewers to get excited about! This Christian film shows great promise in the trailers and looks to be a must see movie during Spring Break! Gather a group of friends and enjoy seeing this film before Easter!

In Theaters Nationwide Week Before Easter Friday, March 23, 2018.

In PAUL, APOSTLE OF CHRIST , Luke risks his life to visit Paul, who is held captive in a Roman prison under Nero’s rule. Together, they struggle against a determined emperor and the frailties of the human spirit in order to live out the Gospel of Jesus Christ and spread their message to the world.

Paul’s letters and writings were vital to the spreading of Christianity, and became a large part of the New Testament. Our story focuses on how, despite persecution and peril, they shared Jesus’ message of love, redemption and forgiveness with a small community of believers who in turn, took it to the whole world.

Great pains were taken to maintain biblical accuracy. Using scripture as the only reference, director Andrew Hyatt recreated the story of Paul on film, including the close relationship with Luke, whom at the end of Paul’s life, at his own peril, traveled in and out of the prison carrying Paul’s writings to the community of believers

Parental Advisory: The MPAA has rated the film PG-13 for some violent content and disturbing images.

Running time is 1:47 min

I’m really looking forward to seeing how they portray the life of Paul in this film. I’ll be taking my twenty year old son and seeing what his opinion and perspective is on the film afterwards as well. He is an Honors student and Creative Writing major at a Christian University here in FL and screen writing is a class he is taking in the fall. He is hoping for inspiration for potentially writing scripts for Christian film companies in the future. He was equally looking forward to seeing this film, Paul, Apostle of Christ and how they will choose to unveil this amazing story of one of the Bible’s hero type characters.

The inspirational animated feature ICE DRAGON: LEGEND OF THE BLUE DAISIES debuts in U.S. movie theaters for a two-day event on
Saturday, March 24th at 12:55 p.m. and Monday, March 26th at 6:30 p.m. (all local times)

Take a quick peek at this short video trailer of the new film coming out soon at select theaters for this two day only event! Available to watch on March 24 and March 26 only! Don’t miss it! Take the family!

About the movie:

Melody, a gifted young dreamer, and her feisty friend Leif must set aside their differences and use the power of magical Blue Daisies and an ancient Song to save their world from an evil Ice Dragon. When the blue flowers that once bloomed all around her village begin to disappear, Melody and her eccentric grandfather recognize this as a sign of great danger… but no one believes them! Racing against time, Melody must convince Leif and the other villagers before it’s too late. Great songs and engaging characters highlight this inspiring, animated adventure for the whole family.

This film is based on a short story by Canadian director and producer Bruce Stacey, his faith-based adventure features the voice talents of Rheal Rees (Melody), Justin Debé (Leif) and Bill Bray (Nicholai).

“The original story sat in my drawer for more than 20 years until I was encouraged by friends at Cartoon Conrad Productions (Kulipari-Net?ix Original Series) to dust it off and adapt it for the screen,” Director and Producer Bruce Stacey said. “I am thrilled this family adventure is making it to the big screen for audiences nationwide to enjoy.”

————————–
My daughter in particular is so thrilled to go see this with me as it is supposed to be a musical style adventure, but has dragons and knights and maidens to attract both guys and girls alike to this delightful adventure on the big screen.
Doesn’t this film sound adorable and exciting? I’m fascinated to go see a faith-based cartoon with dragons! haha! I really hope you’ll get to see it! Please comment on this post if you’ll be going to the debut in theaters too! I’d love to hear your thoughts after you see the movie as well!

I Can Only Imagine Movie in Theater 3/16

I CAN ONLY IMAGINE is the exciting new Christian film coming to theaters on March 16, 2018!
I’ve had the honor and privilege to watch some sneak peek clips of this film based on the song known most by the artist, Bart Millard, and Christian band, Mercy Me, and I can certainly say it has grabbed my interest! A very compelling storyline that should hit home with a lot of people. It will speak to many who may be searching for healing in broken relationships with their parent or loved one, as well as impacting them through the power of this incredible inspired song and how it came to be. I’m looking forward to seeing the film in its entirety this week coming and will have to share in another post my full thoughts on the film.
About the Movie:
It’s the song that brings ultimate hope to so many … often in the midst of life’s most challenging moments. Amazingly, the song was written in mere minutes by MercyMe lead singer Bart Millard. In reality, those lyrics took a lifetime to craft.
Although he found faith at a young age, life wasn’t easy for Bart. He leaned into an active imagination and his love of music as escapes from a troubled home life. As he grew older, Bart turned to football in hopes of somehow connecting with his abusive father. But a career-ending injury—combined with the vision of a teacher who saw unlimited potential—set Bart on a musical pathway.
Chasing a dream while running from broken relationships with father and Shannon, his childhood sweetheart, Bart hits the road on an old, decrepit tour bus with his new band MercyMe—named for his grandmother’s favorite expression. With the guidance of a grizzled music-industry insider, the band begins a journey none of them could ever have imagined.
——-
I was happily surprised to see some fun visitors in the film including everyone’s favorite from War Room – Priscilla Shirer! Can’t wait to see what kind of role they gave her.
The whole concept of God helping to explode the Christian music and Christian film industry simply thrills me! I have prayed for so long for more family friendly and faith-based films to be created and for Christian music to be inspired that speaks straight to the hearts of those who listen. I believe this film has the opportunity to do just that on both accounts!!
Now, if you add the fact that Dennis Quaid is in the I Can Only Imagine movie as a major role in the film, you’ll see it has huge impact on my excitement to see it! I can’t wait to see his experience and acting expertise portrayed in a Christian film like this! My husband and I have always loved his acting and many of the films he has been in have been used to share with our children as some of our favorites. This would be a super addition to our family collection I’m sure. I’ll be happily anticipating the film’s release this Friday, March 16th!
I did get to watch a clip of behind the scenes footage where they interviewed Dennis Quaid about his role. Without giving away any big spoilers, I will express that he seemed to thoroughly enjoy sharing about his part in the movie and the transformation that gets to occur in his character.  If you want to find out what kind of awesome impact this film can have on you and your family or friends – be sure to pick up tickets and support the release of this film this weekend in a theater near you!

Never Get Stuck For A Gift Again – 15 Gift Ideas For Teen

Buying for teens is something that most people find tough. Whether you’re a parent of a teen, an aunt to one, a godparent, or something else, you want to make sure you give them a great gift. Things change so quickly these days, though, so what if you buy them something outdated? Something that they don’t think is ‘cool’? Don’t panic. There are 15 ideas here that can suit many teens, so you don’t have to resort to giving them money.

A Magazine Subscription

A magazine subscription is suited for any teen, of any age, with any taste. Whether they’re into cars, makeup, or crafts, there’s a magazine subscription out there for them. This is a great gift because they’ll get something posted to them every week/month.

A Candy Hamper

It might not be great for their teeth, but it’s a special occasion. A hamper filled with their favorite candy should make them smile. You could even get creative with it. If this is a teen that prefers healthier food (or you know their parents wouldn’t approve of candy), fruit hampers are a thing too!

Clothing Vouchers

Teens always seem to want something new to wear, don’t they? For this gift, all you need to know is where they love to shop, and purchase vouchers for them so they can pick something out themselves. It might not be as fun to give as other gifts on the list, but at least you know they’re not going to roll their eyes at you.

Lounge Wear

Relaxing with Netflix is something anybody of any age likes to do from time to time. What better way to do it than in some cosy loungewear? Not quite regular clothing and not quite pyjamas, loungewear fits nicely between the two so that they don’t feel like lazy slobs while watching their favorite show, yet they stay comfortable.

Great Books

For the teen who loves to read, you can’t go wrong with great books. Reading helps to improve all kinds of skills, so think of a book you feel will really engage them and go for it. There are all kinds of books written for teens on the market, from vampire fantasies to love stories, and so much more. Twilight, The Hunger Games, and The Fault in Our Stars are just a few titles.

A Polaroid Camera

Young people seem to love polaroids. They’re fun to take and vintage in a good way, which makes them extremely fashionable! If you’re on the lookout for a ‘main present’ and you have a slightly bigger budget, getting a polaroid camera for them is a fantastic idea. Make sure you compare the different types out there, how much the film is going to be, and the different features. You want the polaroids to look great, but remember, teens will want a camera that looks cool too!

A Day Out

What better gift is there than spending quality time with a teen? You could plan a day out to explore somewhere you’ve never been before. You could take this day to go shopping, to a show, or even to go zorbing.

A Game

Board games seem to be dying out, although there are still a few that teens could approve of – how about that ‘meme’ game? It fits in perfectly with teen culture and means they’re staring at a screen all the time! However, if you just can’t drag your teen away from the PC, it might be better to get them a game they can play there, like https://www.finalfantasyxvapp.com. Some games can actually be beneficial, as they teach kids to use critical thinking skills, improve their reaction times, and more. They aren’t all ‘a waste of time’!

Personalized Jewelry

Personalized jewelry is a sweet gift that any teen can treasure forever. You can purchase friendship style bracelets for a more relaxed look, or a silver/gold piece for something they can wear to special occasions. The jewelry doesn’t have to be personalized, this is just something that can make the gift extra special.

Silicone Shower Speaker

This is for all the teens who love to sing in the shower. A silicone shower speaker can withstand water and allows them to hear their favorite songs while they get ready for the day ahead. If you don’t really fancy listening to them sing at the top of their lungs (the acoustics in the bathroom can mean the music echoing all around the house), then a normal speaker, such as a bluetooth version could also be a great gift.

Movie Tickets

Kids love the movies, and buying them movie tickets could allow the two of you to bond. Alternatively, you could purchase one for a friend, too. Movie theatres usually have deals where you can pay a monthly fee and see as many films as possible, so consider that for the ultimate movie geek teen!

A Light Box

Light boxes are cool additions to any bedroom. They can spell out pretty much any word, phrase, or name that they like and it’ll be lit up by this nifty little box.

A Spotify Subscription

You’d be hard pressed to find a teen that didn’t love music. Buying CDs and albums this way can still work, but pretty much everything is done online now. An iTunes voucher allows them to buy music they want to store on their smartphone device, or you could purchase a Spotify subscription for them so they can listen to whatever they want, whenever they want.

A Harry Potter Coloring Book

Diehard Harry Potter fans are still cropping up all over the globe. Harry Potter coloring books might sound like something for pre-teens, but to an avid Harry Potter fan, it could make the perfect addition to any collection. Coloring is a therapeutic activity too.

A Selfie Light

Getting those perfect angles and the perfect lighting can be tough, but it’s made much easier with a selfie light attached to a smartphone. If you know your teen loves taking selfies, this could be a thoughtful gift.

Which of these gifts are you going to buy for the teen in your life?
