Pigtails & Crewcuts: Coming to Florida!

PIGTAILS & CREWCUTS SIGNS NEW FRANCHISEE IN CLERMONT, FLORIDA

In the spirit of sharing things I believe local Florida families will get excited about, I’d like to present this exciting news release regarding the recent purchase of three new children’s hair salon experiences coming to various parts of the state of Florida including Central Florida in Clermont!

Pigtails & Crewcuts, a children’s hair salon franchise based out of Atlanta, Georgia, recently signed a three-unit deal with owners Delena and Andrew Santoro in Central Florida.

The first of the three salons is expected to be located near Clermont, Florida, bringing the franchise’s fun and whimsical approach to children’s haircuts to the area. The franchise has over 50 children’s salons across the country, with two salons currently open in the Orlando area and the grand opening of its first South Florida location in Miami expected to take place later this spring.

“We are excited to be expanding our reach into new areas of Florida and look forward to working with Delena and Andrew to find the ideal location for each of their salons,” says Michelle Holliman, Vice President of Franchise Development.

About Pigtails & Crewcuts: Pigtails & Crewcuts is a children’s hair salon franchise created by parents for kids to offer a stress-free haircutting experience for the whole family. In addition to hair care services, Pigtails & Crewcuts offers a custom-line of kid-centric hair products and accessories, gifts, and a private party room for birthday celebrations. Franchise opportunities are available in the United States. For franchising information, please visit www.pigtailsandcrewcutsfranchise.com.

With all this exciting news on the horizon for Clermont, south Florida and wherever they choose for the third location, I felt it was a great move on the part of Delena and Andrew Santoro and I hope to be one of the first to review their new establishment in Clermont when it opens in the near future. Can you even imagine how much easier it will be to get your kids to go to the hair salon to get a cut or style for special events knowing how much fun the environment will be? Stress free hair cuts sounds good to me!

Help for the Hopeless: Recovery Options for Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Addiction Is A Disease

There are hundreds of individuals each year in Florida that may be facing a very serious disease that often goes unchecked and many times unnoticed by those living around the ones who suffer with it. This unrelenting and tragic disease is called addiction. The sad truth is this scary and often lonely disease can overcome anyone who falls into its grasp. It affects men, women and teens all over the state. In the Jacksonville area alone, there have been statistics calculated since 2015 showing that over 3800 people have sadly lost their lives to just one of these deadly addictions – Opioids.

Opioid Use Is Rising

Drug and alcohol abuse is a difficult subject for some people to discuss and one of the reasons behind it is because for them – it hits home. Yes, there are families all over the state that are dealing with a  teen, college student, parent, or even grandparent who is affected and hooked on one of the many different substances that people abuse and get addicted with every year. Opioids is a hot topic across our country lately and has to be dealt with soon or the number of deaths that are tragically lost will increase greatly. Some types of substances that individuals tend to become addicted to are: alcohol, club drugs, cocaine, Fentanyl, hallucinogens, inhalants, Heroin, Marijuana, MDMA (Ecstasy/Molly), Methamphetamine.

Why Aren’t We Doing More To Help Stop It?

If thousands of people are losing their lives to this horrible addiction of drug or alcohol abuse, why aren’t we doing more to stop it? Maybe there is a lack of awareness on this subject? It’s possible the majority of people out there in Florida are just not informed well enough about the seriousness of the disease and what it does to literally handicap the mind of those who are battling with it day to day. Addiction of this magnitude can literally plaque the mind and body so much that it makes the sufferer feel trapped and stuck in their addiction of drug or alcohol abuse believing that there is no way out. Unfortunately this feeling of hopelessness inside can prevent someone from truly getting the help and assistance they need to break their addiction and fight this deadly disease.

How To Find Help For The Hopeless

Why aren’t the families of those who have these addictions trying harder to get them the help they need? Maybe their loved ones are avoiding the issue and choosing to turn a blind eye because they just aren’t sure what to do to help them.  If this is the case, it’s time to put an end to that feeling of hopelessness for all parties involved. Let’s stop the sleepless nights wondering if your loved one is going to be alive in the morning. No more worrying how you are going to get them the help they need. There are solutions out there. Rehab and recovery centers exist to eliminate that feeling of being trapped and bring help to the hopeless. Find real support for drug detox in Jacksonville Florida and get answers to your biggest questions today. Isn’t it worth it to act now and choose to help prevent another unnecessary and tragic death in Florida?

If you need added encouragement to help you while you and your loved one are facing the reality of conquering this scary disease of addiction together, feel free to check out some of my favorite verses for calming the soul and bringing peace.

High Praise for Family Honor Plate and Table Thyme Discussion Cards

Here’s a unique treat of a review for families all around the world! I give it high praise and am very thankful to have had the chance to review it here at Love2EncourageYou. Today’s product in focus offers a unique and interesting way to teach Biblical principles of good character while developing stronger family bonds and relationships through quality discussion around the dinner table. Owner/Creator, Michelle Weber, calls this a Family Honor Plate and Table Thyme Discussion Cards. Doesn’t that sound like so much fun for family meal times?

The Family Honor Plate starts as a DIY ceramics-painting project you get to create and bake at home. Then it turns into a fun family tradition and parenting tool to raise our children in the fruits of the Holy Spirit, as written in Galatians 5:22.

These fun questions from the Table Thyme Discussion Cards take conversations to a deeper level and teach everyone in the family how to articulate and share special memories, learn how to voice their opinions, and for some how to even have an opinion. These are skills required for success in relationships and careers.  This is a creative and entertaining way for children to learn these skills naturally.
My family has a rather unusual mix of ages with my oldest son being 20 years old and my other two being younger at ten years and six years old. This did not prevent them from enjoying the opportunity to dive into this painting project together and make it a “family print” of sorts with each of them taking their turn to add to the painting of our Family Honor Plate. It was such a delight to see them interacting together in this way and looking forward to having “their day” to be honored when caught exhibiting one of the characteristics on the Family Honor Plate.
The Table Thyme Discussion Cards were particularly interesting to try out. I wasn’t completely sure what sort of response I would get out of my kids. They seemed to really like the opportunity to share their thoughts and their voice on a particular question though and loved getting to have a turn and learn what the other siblings would share. Even mom and dad took their turn on some of them!
Examples of some of the questions or discussion starters are:
*Look at someone at the table and give them a compliment.
*Share about a time when you were sad.
*What’s your favorite book? Why?
*Do you have friends who help you make good choices? Who are they and what are they like?
*Describe something you think your mom or dad does better than anyone else. Why?
I felt the variety of discussion starters were well mixed and appropriate for a variety of ages. I believe the ones specifically geared for adults were designed well to help kids learn more about their parents too.
The Family Honor Plate kit came with EVERYTHING we needed to enjoy this experience together and the plate itself is absolutely beautiful. I really loved getting to do this review with my family. I hope you will consider purchasing The Family Honor Plate for your family or a loved one who might benefit from the well-thought-out discussions and experience wrapped up in the Family Honor Plate and Discussion Thyme Cards.
Watch this helpful video from the company sharing all about the Family Honor Plate here on YouTube.

About the Family Honor Plate:

Step #1 MOM AND DAD – BE THE EXAMPLE. BE THE ROLE-MODEL: The virtues are listed in the center of the plate for mom and dad to use as their anchor, their moral compass to guide them in how they need to show up for and to their children. This is how our children learn what character (Christ’s Character) is, what it looks like, what it feels like. Our children are watching us and learning from us.

Step #2 BE ON THE LOOKOUT: Look for the good choices and attitude your kids/spouse are making and showing throughout the day. Track it back to the virtues and character it shows.

Step #3 CELEBRATE THEIR CHARACTER: Turn dinnertime into a celebration when you catch someone making good choices and showing good character and present their meal on the FAMILY HONOR PLATE. This is when you:
· Talk about the choices they made and the virtues and character that it showed (Be specific).
· Talk about how they made everyone involved feel and the impact they had on people and how that is POWERFUL and BEAUTIFUL.

About the Table Thyme Discussion Cards:

Communication is the key to connecting, building and maintaining healthy relationships. When we are raise our children to be confident in their ability to communicate with others and get their point across, situations are less stressful and they have better outcomes.

Share with me in the comments what your favorite family time discussion memories are? How much do you think a product like the Family Honor Plate and Table Thyme Discussion Cards would make a positive impact on your family discussions at dinner?

5 Top Tips To Make Bedtime Easier For Parents

If you are a parent, you know that bedtime is one of the most stressful parts of the day. Kids just don’t want to shut their eyes and count those sheep. Nope, they would much rather watch TV or play with their favorite toys until an ungodly hour of the night. Parents can’t let this happen because small kids are terrible when they are cranky. Plus, so are moms and dads!

As you know, clicking your fingers or making a wish doesn’t work. Unless you tackle the situation head-on, nothing will change and the whole family will suffer. Sadly, we all know parents who fight against the tide, and they don’t set a stellar example. Let’s face it – no one wants to be that mom or dad.

But, what can you do to change the way kids think about sleep? It isn’t as if they are mature, reasonable adults. The key is to build a routine and stick with it through thick and thin. Here is a selection of routine-based tips to keep in mind which should come in handy.

Deal With Sleep Troubles

The idea of going to sleep isn’t a simple one for children. Young kids always have and will continue to have sleep anxiety. It may be a fear of missing out, a fear of the dark, or sleep apnea. Don’t worry; the last one isn’t an Inception-style problem! The point is that kids have trouble falling and staying asleep because there are numerous issues which impact their brain. Most parents, because it’s common, decide not to act and wait before they see a doctor. Sorry, but it’s a bad move as the percentage of children who work out sleep problems on their own is low. Until you tackle the problem head-on, it will never go away. How you do it depends on the situation, but, as a general rule, talking to a pediatrician helps. Should the issue be severe, a specialized sleep therapist may be the only option.

Set A Strict Routine

During the week, going to bed on time is easy. In fact, it’s mandatory because you and your partner want time off before the rat race begins in the morning! However, when sleep experts say a routine needs maintaining, they aren’t only talking about weekdays. Unfortunately, it means weekends too. Now, Saturday and Sunday mornings are the only days you get to sleep past 7 am. Still, allowing kids to lie-in past their usual wake up time can impact the rest of the week. Then, on a Wednesday night during the week, your son or daughter may refuse to stick to the schedule. Whether it’s a Monday at the start of the week or a Friday at the end, their bedtime should be consistent.

Take Toilet Precautions

Older kids can’t wear diapers, but younger ones can because they are in transition. Yes, potty training your child without the need for diapers, or an accident, is the Holy Grail of parenting. But, don’t let your fantasy get in the way of reality. During the day, a child can tell their parents they need to go to the toilet. That way, accidents are easy to avoid. At night, their needs are involuntary and they can go without knowing. And, there is nothing worse to waking up to find your kid has gone number 1/2 during the night. The first step is to use diapers while they get used to potty training, and the second is to buy the right ones. At www.mothersandmore.org, there is a post which lists the factors to consider before handing over your hard-earned cash. Also, you can ask friends or family members with experience for diaper-buying advice. Just don’t do it over the table while you eat dinner!

Think About A Snack Attack

Eating before bed is a delicate balance. As kids are younger and use up more energy, they may need to eat before bed. This is particularly true when they have a routine based on a pre-bedtime meal. However, a large snack requires the body to use lots of energy to break down the food. And, when that happens, it is likely to interfere with REMS. If your child doesn’t complain about being hungry, don’t offer a snack before bed as the likelihood is it will do more harm than good. But, if they wake up during the night and ask for food, implement supper into their bedtime routine. The trick is to give them something light and easy to digest, such as fruit or porridge. Also, these foods have plenty of helpful nutrients which act as fuel through the night. Besides those examples, www.webmd.com lists graham crackers as a tasty yet healthy substitute.

Regulate The Room’s Temperature

Everyone sleeps better when the temp in the room is pleasant. In layman’s terms, it means it should be cool but not cold. Moreover, it needs to be warm yet not hot. Regulating the temperature of a room is never easy, especially if it’s too big or too small. Still, it is possible with a radiator which has a variety of settings. Turning the heat to the middle option is often an excellent way to stop the room from getting too hot. Plus, don’t forget about the role of the blankets and comforter. Usually, the top trick is to dress your child in normal PJs and resist the urge to splurge. Then, use the sheets as a means to retain heat during the night. If they get too hot, they can kick them off and allow the draft to cool them at night.

Finally, don’t forget to remove electrical appliances from the bedroom. Experts know that electronic devices give off radiation which the body picks up on at night. When this happens, it tricks the brain into waking up, which interrupts sleep. Therefore, the fewer items in your child’s bedroom, the less impact the radiation will have on their sleep patterns. Yep, that even goes for the TV on the wall or the personal stereo on the bedside table.

Emotional Preparation Is Important for Families When Moving House

It’s a major step to suddenly pick up your entire life and move to some other place, where you and your family have no emotional connection with. This is perhaps the hardest part after all the logistical stuff is over, to suddenly come to terms that you’re a stranger in your new environment. Emotional preparation is important for families when moving house as developing connections in the new, unfamiliar environment of your new home will take time. But, you can try and make your surroundings feel familiar. There’s no reason why your new neighborhood cannot help rebuild some happy, comfortable connections for you, but of course, it will obviously take time and patience.

Moving day will be hectic, it’s vital that you take time, to emotionally say goodbye to the home and living space you have been encompassed with so that you can feel comfortable knowing you and your family are ready to move on. Not so much as a ritual per se, but there should be a set amount of time, you’re able to go over meaningful things and sort of say goodbye before leaving for your new home. This is especially true for your children or elderly parents if they live with you, as memories for seniors make it tough to say farewell. Children tend to have a hard time letting go of close friends or familiar places too, so giving them some quality moments to work through these emotions in a positive way can help the new journey go that much more smoothly.

Pets, children and gardens

The garden is one of the few places in the home, where you can actually properly stretch and breathe in the fresh air. It’s also where children play, and your pets are allowed to also release some of their energy. As you’re getting prepared to leave the home, have a day to remember the good times in your garden. You could throw a barbecue for all your friends and family, where their children can run around, play with the dog and be happy one last time in your current home. Homes are all about making memories, and the garden is a place for all members of your close circle to come together and enjoy each other’s company before you move. What would be the cherry on the cake, could be to sit in the garden as the sunsets, and enjoy some good food and fellowship with your close family and children, on the night before moving day begins.

Spend time packing together

When you’re getting ready to move home, packing is going to be the largest part of the task. By booking a slot with professionals movers, you take away very physically taxing part of the endeavor. The teams will come in and package the heaviest and largest appliances, furniture and fittings in your home so that the lighter tasks can be done with care. Reminiscing with your partner and children, while packing clothes, looking at photos and going through the memories is very cleansing for the soul. You might have had some of the best moments in your home; a newborn baby might have grown up to now be old enough to look at photos of them coming home for the first time. Talking about your possessions and the creative times you had in the home before you move, can be a great way to leave behind any baggage.

Leaving the home you’ve lived in for several years and perhaps even decades can be an emotional rollercoaster. It’s difficult not to, but you develop an attachment to the home you live in because it’s where some of the best moments in your life have occurred. Utilizing some of the ideas mentioned above may help ease the transition as you move and look forward to starting a fresh new chapter in your family’s life.

18th Birthday Present Ideas for Boys

18th Birthday Present Ideas for Boys

As children grow, it becomes more and more difficult to get them gifts that they’ll truly appreciate. We as parents all remember the simpler days, when a small gift or a completely random object could amuse and entertain our small children for hours on end. As we experience more things in life, our threshold for appreciating things continues to increase. When children transition into young adulthood, it can be especially difficult to find joy in a gift that is sensible, affordable and sentimental. Fortunately, there are solutions: we’ll review today some great gift ideas for those boys in your life who are turning 18.

gaming-2259191_1920

  • The Latest Video Game Console

Most teenage boys absolutely love gaming consoles. Whether it’s a PC, Xbox One or PlayStation 4, there are several choices that cater to each type of gamer’s tastes. Today’s gaming consoles are absolutely phenomenal in terms of the gaming experience provided. Giving your 18 year-old boy one of these is almost certainly going to result in countless hours of enjoyment and use, unlike many other gifts that can be equally as pricey yet are easily discarded.

  • A Tower of Treats

If you’re aiming for a smaller gift for the man who’s turning 18, then you might want to consider how to take a bunch of tiny things and turn them into something awesome. We’re all familiar with the concept of gift baskets, but what about a tower of treats or a castle of collections? There are some great ideas on Pinterest (click here and here for a couple of them) showing ways you can take those tiny treats and savory somethings and combine them into something simple yet awesome!

  • A New Vehicle

While this might be out of the realm of possibility for many, one’s 18th birthday symbolizes adulthood, freedom and independence. If you are in the position to do so, a new vehicle may be just the perfect gift for that growing boy in your life. Whether it’s a brand new car or a used one, one of the biggest desires of a young adult is to be able to go wherever and whenever he wants. This is especially an awesome gift if he is still relying on parental or public transportation to get from place to place.

  • Ask Him!

Finally, one smart recommendation – and perhaps the best way to provide him with a lasting gift – is to talk with the birthday boy about what he would like. This is almost certainly something you’ll need to do in order to find him a gift that he’ll continue to find interest in for years to come. The best gifts are gifts that help foster their talents, passions and interests: are you familiar with what motivates and inspires him? Whether it be music equipment, a piece of software or a series of acting lessons, consider what a gift that touches his special interests can mean on his 18th birthday.

Buying gifts for young adults can be tricky, but with a bit of preparation and planning, you’ll easily pull it off. Whether you’re looking at a new gaming console, a vehicle for the open road or something that truly taps into their passions, the thought of the gift matters above all else.

Fantastic Tools To Help Your Child Develop At Home

learn-2105410_1920

Education is one of the most vital parts of a child’s upbringing. School learning is undeniably a crucial factor. However, it’s equally important that you provide your son or daughter with the best opportunities in other areas too. Frankly, your home life is the perfect place to start.

Of course, you may need to help your child with their academic studies at various stages throughout their school tutoring. However, there’s more to life than purely academic development. You can promote the development of equally key skills from the comfort of your home. Here are some of the best ways to do just that.

oekaki-2009817_1920

Arts & Crafts

Children shouldn’t only learn the fundamentals of reading and writing. As a parent, you should always look to embrace their creative sides at every given opportunity. Arts and crafts are a cheap form of entertainment while they also encourage creative flair.

elementary-school-1332472_1920

Moreover, those crafts also underline the sentiments that hard work pays off. Whether it’s these paper bowl jellyfish or another craft isn’t overly important. As long as the project is age appropriate, it will be a rewarding method. Best of all, it gives you a chance to participate and track their personal growth.

 music-lessons-435105_1920

Music

Music plays a crucial role in all of our lives, and that spark of development starts at a very young age. Encouraging your kid to play music rather than just listen can bring a host of benefits. Guitars, keyboards, and other instruments may seem like expensive gifts. But the years of entertainment they’ll provide ensures that they offer value back for the money you’ve invested.

Another great thing about encouraging music at home is that you can use both autonomous learning and guided learning. In turn, that should provide your child with a comprehensive experience. Given that musical talent has been linked to academic progress too, the incentives to encourage this could not be greater.

Interactive Video Games

Most kids respond far better when they are actively participating in their learning activities. Meanwhile, computer games are a firm favorite for children of all ages. So why not combine the two with educational titles that develop academic skills as well as computer literacy?

These popular ABCYA games for 5th graders are particularly good examples that bring a wealth of benefits. However, there are many more titles aimed at kids of all ages. If the kids are having fun and interacting while learning, you will see great results.

nature-2206200_1920

Garden Activities

Learning shouldn’t simply be about remembering and reciting facts. Problem solving, logical thinking, and self-discovery are all important factors too. Likewise, it’s imperative that your child is encouraged to lead a healthy lifestyle as well. Utilizing the garden with treasure hunts and other games is one of the best ways to do this. Who knows what exciting and unusual discoveries they will encounter?

Jungle gyms, trampolines, and sporting activities will also enhance their development. Those rewards can range from communication skills to improved coordination. When combined with the tasks above and strong academic learning, their opportunities to develop will be greater than ever.

Mommy Time: How to Relax on Your Day Off

pool-690034_1280

Moms have a lot on their plate. From taking care of their kid’s most basic needs to running errands, cooking for the family and holding down a job, there is always a lot to do, and that is exactly why all you mommies out there should be given the opportunity to schedule some much-needed mommy time.

Mommy time is a period of time, whether it be a day or an hour, when you can kick back, relax and let daddy or another family member, take care of the children. If you’re thinking “That would be nice, but it’s never gonna happen!” Make it happen! There are plenty of people who would be happy to give you a break and take the kiddos for a while, all you have to do is ask.

When you do finally schedule some much-needed mommy time, you should be careful not to waste it by using it to catch up on chores or spending the time worrying about the kids. Here’s what you should do instead.

Netflix and Chill

In the most literal meaning of the phrase. Put on your PJs, pop some corn, snuggle down and catch up with that one show you love, but never get to see because the kids are always watching Adventure Time, and you’ll be feeling much more relaxed in no time.

relaxation-1967892_1920

Meditate

There are more reasons to meditate than you could imagine, but the most precious to a busy mommy is its ability to fight stress and aid relaxation. If you’re struggling with sleepless nights, endless chore lists and the demands of day to day living, light a candle, fire up Youtube and follow along with a gentle guided meditation. You won’t regret it.

Pamper Yourself

If your nails are more often chipped than perfectly manicured and running a brush through your hair feels like a luxury, you deserve to be pampered. If you have a whole day to dedicated to mommy time, you could book yourself into a luxury spa, where you’ll be pampered and preened by the best beauty technicians and masseurs. If, however, you only have an hour or two to spare, you can still get the benefit by running a hot bubble bath, pouring yourself a glass of champagne and taking care of your most basic beauty needs.

Take a Walk

If walking is usually a military operation when you have the kiddos in tow, why not treat yourself to a short hike? Spending time in nature is one of the most rewarding and relaxing things you can do at any age, and although hiking is certainly a great family activity, it is also something which can be enjoyed in solitude, especially if you rarely have a moment to yourself in everyday life.

Whatever you decide to do with it, you should make mommy time a regular thing if you want to avoid getting overly-stressed. It won’t just help you; it’ll benefit your whole family to have a happy, healthy mommy, too!

Let’s Talk Mom: Worries We All Experience And How To Calm The Anxiety

baby-165067_1280(2)

Being a mom is the most rewarding thing I think anyone of us can experience, but I also feel it is one of the hardest challenges we will ever face. The issue is, so many of us can feel alone in the journey and feel we are the only ones feeling this conflict of emotions. The truth is, we all experience worry from time to time and motherhood can certainly make us feel anxious. Which is why I thought it would be a wonderful time to share with you some of the most common worries we can all experience, and hopefully ease those anxious feelings in the process. Children are blessings, yes, but it’s also wise for our own sanity to feel comforted that we are not the only ones to worry.

Health concerns

One of the biggest things we as moms can worry about is the health of our children. Any high fever, cough and cold can certainly send our worry emotion into overdrive, especially as a first-time mom. It’s natural to be concerned as to whether your child is healthy or experiencing something nasty which is why it’s always advisable to seek guidance from a local doctor. But It’s understandable that appointments may be in the future, and the truth be told we would like an answer there and then as to the welfare of our babies. This is why phone applications like Babylon could really help put our minds at ease. Getting answers from professionals instead of worrying ourselves over Google search results.

School

As a homeschooling mom and one child in high school, I can see why school can be such a huge worry to mothers. From wondering whether they are getting the best out of the educational environment to whether they will have friends in their class. Homeschooling means I can control the environment somewhat, but that doesn’t mean to say that the worry goes away. We all want to ensure that our children learn as much as they can in the most positive of manners. If you do feel a little anxious over this then speaking to other mothers or even the school itself could enable you to put your mind at ease a little.

Their development

I don’t think there is any mother out there who won’t worry about the development of their child. Sure milestones and ages are not necessarily important as each child develops at their own rate, but it doesn’t stop us questioning whether everything is fine. Again communicating these concerns will be the only way to put your mind at ease, every child is different after all.

mother-1245764_1920

Our own mindset

What mom doesn’t worry about their own mindset? Whether that is feeling crazy by the end of the day, or even feeling the loneliness that can come with motherhood. It isn’t spoken about enough, and it is so important to surround yourself with positive people who will help support you. Especially on those days where you are feeling tired and drained.
Of course, there are so many other things moms concern themselves with such as our inability to catch up on sleep, or our child’s fussiness with eating, but at least we can all agree that a problem can be halved when spoken about. More often than not, it can make you feel much calmer about the situation. Surround yourself with people who care, and make sure you are airing out your concerns and not keeping those anxieties inside.

Share with me in the comments what your top concerns are as a mom or parent and lets all help ease these anxieties together. Many blessings to all the moms out there!

The Blessings of Unity: God’s Best for Our Marriages

blessingsinunity

In an effort to bring you some AMAZING gift ideas that not only help each of us individually, but in this case will also help our spouses – I invite you to take a deeper look at this wonderful book called The Blessings of Unity: God’s Best for Our Marriages.

I have been really pleased with all the great practical tips from author, Richard T. Case, some I knew already, but are good reminders – some are new to me! You can never go wrong when trying to produce an enriching future life with your husband or wife. Our spouses deserve our top efforts to grow closer to the Lord and grow closer to them.  Won’t you join me in checking out more ways to bless the bonds of unity in marriage and keep our marriages a top priority in the coming year? That is my prayer for all of us!

Basically this book is a very easy read and extremely helpful to anyone who picks it up. I found the layout to be designed in an organized fashion with tips and suggestions to use towards developing unity with key verses of Scripture referenced and practical ideas and thoughts from the author himself to help us relate it to our own lives and marriages. Why aren’t all books this helpful?! I highly recommend this book as a blessing to new couples engaged to be married – all the way to long term, seasoned married couples like hubby and myself (going on 24 years!)

About the book:
The Blessings of Unity offers insight and ideas for creating godly unity in our marriages centered around two key concepts:
1) Abiding in the Vine and walking in the Spirit, and
2) Learning and applying the concept of unity.
Unity is achieved when a man and woman strive for agreement with God by processing His Will on every decision and in every issue. Through Biblically-centered discussions of discord, division, unity, discipleship, and prayer, and through exploring Biblical examples of unity, Richard Case offers husbands and wives practical and spiritual advice for working together in unity in the Spirit so that they can more perfectly present themselves to God for his divine approval.
