Peppa Pig Cold Winter Day DVD #Preschool

I’m having a blast today watching my kids giggle and laugh as they watch and review the newest DVD from the Peppa Pig collection called “Cold Winter Day”! It’s so cute!

Right now they are watching the “Ice Skating” peppasode and are sliding around my foyer in their socks pretending to ice skate along with Peppa and her little brother George. They’ve enjoyed the gentle reminders of kindness, friendship, good manners, and love that are laced throughout the Peppa Pig episodes often. My youngest is four years and he thought it was fun when Peppa and her brother wanted to brush their teeth longer or take their bath longer. All these great reminders to keep clean, and healthy are wonderful for Preschoolers to hear often and from a source other than mommy! lol.

We thoroughly enjoyed the “Sleeping Princess” episode where daddy pig read them a bedtime story. I could go on and on about this adorable program. I just know your kids will enjoy it too! Peppa Pig is a great source of joy and good, clean fun to watch and explore concepts with your little ones.

This new Cold Winter Day collection of episodes from Peppa Pig comes out on November 3, 2015 on both DVD and Digital Download. Don’t miss it! Makes a super holiday gift for someone special in your life.

Episodes include:

  • Cold Winter Day
  • Not Very Well
  • Snow
  • Thunderstorm
  • The Sleepy Princess
  • Bedtime
  • Swimming
  • Daddy Pig’s Office

  • The Toy Cupboard

My daughter “M” from Kids Corner shares her review:

My favorite episode is “Talking to Unicorns” because it is a wonderful adventure that shares about the beginning info describing the story of Centopia and explaining it.  This particular episode describes all about Mia and who she is. The show is magical every time and inspires me. I love dancing to the theme song too! I am sure other kids will love this movie. I highly recommend it! – “M”

They both love all the episodes in this DVD, but “Neighbor Day” is extra special and they both agree that one is their favorite – along with the little song in it.

20150215_185410_resizedPreparing your little one for the world of pets, outdoor critters and other animals can be both fun and challenging. We recently bought our children their very first pet and the ups and downs of teaching basic care, careful handling, and maximum playtime has been a true learning experience for both my four year old son and my eight year old daughter.  Watching this adorable representation of Caillou going through both common mishaps and lots of creative playtime with the world of furry friends was a delight and enriching experience for my two little ones. They loved many episodes and giggled numerous times or even would rewind certain parts.

Kids Corner Review with M: My daughter “M” (age 8) shares that she loved the episode called Dog Dilemma because it teaches about how much fun it is having someone new in your life to play with or spend time with. Caillou’s friend got a new dog and started spending all her time with the dog which made Caillou sad. He missed playing with his friend, but she no longer had any time for him. One day Caillou’s parents agreed to watch the dog for Caillou’s friend and Caillou got to see why his friend loved the dog so much and that made him not be jealous anymore. Caillou’s friend made sure she balanced her time more and tried to go play with Caillou on a regular basis too.

Chuggington Explodes into Action in Turbo Charged Chugger DVD!

Are you ready for this? Chuggington fans everywhere will be delighted to watch the newest release of Chuggington DVDs called Chuggington Turbo Charged Chugger! Available now for purchase from Anchor Bay Entertainment! This particular DVD comes with an added suprise bonus: A Chuggington Activity Book with Stickers! It was so much fun to watch my 4 yr olds eyes light up when I gave him this new DVD and then the activity book fell out of the case when he tried to open it! He was so excited! He sat there in his favorite chair happily looking through the book and pulling out some stickers to put up and down his arms and feet while he watched the show.

His favorite episode seemed to be Top Secret Koko while my 8 yr old daughter’s favorite episode on the disc was the Team Trainee episode. If you love to hear your kids let out a good belly laugh or giggle hysterically, try fast-forwarding the theme song at 1.5 speed so it sings super fast. My little guy was imitating the trains going faster and faster and laughing all the way as he tried to sing the song as fast as they did. lol.

My daughter said she liked this particular episode called Team Trainee because the trains were put onto teams and were racing each other. The Chug Patrol, the Chuggineers, and others paired up in sets of two to reach the finish line first.  I love one of the quotes from a train telling Koko to be careful. He said to her, “More heed, less speed.” Wise words wouldn’t you say? One of the trains gets their brakes locked up and cannot proceed to finish the race – it’s stranded. Koko asks her friends to help the train and get him going again. It was a valiant effort on behalf of the young trainees and soon they were able to find a solution and get the stranded train to safety again. My daughter shares that the lesson in helping a friend is more important than winning a race. She recommends this movie because it shows kindness and helpfulness towards others.

We suggest purchasing Chuggington Turbo Charged Chugger for families with toddlers to lower elementary age children. Great for homeschoolers studying various lessons about trains, helpfulness and other topics.

The trainees are taking their responsibilities to a whole new level! In these six turbo-charged episodes – plus coloring pages, new Character Montages and more – Wilson and the Chug Patrollers attempt a daring bridge rescue, Brewster helps the Chuggineers build a new station, Koko tries to break her Chug – A- Sonic record, the Speed Fleet competes in the Track Dash, and everybody learns how to use the Piggy-Back Wagon. And with friends and mentors like Hanzo, Asher and Payce riding along, your own trainees will learn to work together, play fair and use good judgement as they take on new responsibilities of their own!

Wild Kratts: Rainforest Rescue – PBS KIDS Hit a Home Run!

Wild Kratts: Rainforest Rescue – PBS KIDS Hit a Home Run!

Product Review: Wild Kratts Rainforest Rescue

Full movie review by Rebecca (and her daughter) at Love2EncourageYou. I received a free copy of the movie from PBS to review.

Wild Kratts Rainforest Rescue on dvd is a super packed educational cartoon with lots of fun, thrills and wild moments!

Overview: My six year old daughter was completely glued to the screen during this volume of the Wild Kratts: Rainforest Rescue. When it was over, she shouted, “That was awesome! This is my favorite movie ever!” She begged me to let her keep the movie, and I said of course you can keep it. She jumped up and hugged the case! Lol. 🙂 I guess that means this one’s a real winner in her eyes!

What did you like the most about this movie? Answer from my 6 year old: I liked seeing all the new animals, watching them rescue the animals and seeing them wear outfits to turn into the animals. She also really enjoys the music – she keeps singing the theme song. It’s a very catchy tune.

What new info did you learn? Answer from my 6 year old: First I learned how the animals can help different places in this Earth. When the sloth goes to the bathroom, another smaller creature comes by and lays orange eggs on it and it helps grow a new tree. I also learned that when you help animals you are also helping to save the world. I loved learning how black jaguars disappear in the shadows. If you try to look at a black jaguar they look back at you in a special secret way cause they are hiding.

In my personal opinion: I’m quite impressed with this entire series from the Kratt brothers called the Wild Kratts. I raised my 15 year old son on the Zaboomafoo series of animal learning shows with the Kratt brothers years ago. I’m delighted to see them still creating fabulous entertainment and educational viewing for both young and old alike. From a homeschool parent’s perspective, I’d give this a five star rating for sure. From a mom perspective, it still has the lure and draw for attention that any other cartoon full of animals, catchy theme songs and funny moments would offer. The Kratt brothers and PBS KIDS hit a home run with this one!  As my daughter says, “The Wild Kratts are awesome! They rock!”

The run time of the DVD is 50 minutes and the DVD SRP is $9.99. Additional WILD KRATTS DVDs are available from PBS Distribution including “LOST AT SEA,” “JUNGLE ANIMALS” and others.

Don’t forget to check out my review on The Wild Kratts: Lost At Sea!

Kids Love the Movie – Wild Kratts: Lost At Sea

Kids Love the Movie – Wild Kratts: Lost At Sea

Full movie review by Rebecca at Love2EncourageYou. I received a copy for review from PBS.

I’m going to present this wonderful children’s movie from PBS KIDS to you from the eyes of my six year old daughter who absolutely adored watching it again and again. Her two year old brother loved it too.

What did you love about the show? Answer from my six year old daughter: I love learning about all the sea animals like the dolphins and how they speak, the blow fish, and the Kratt brothers being silly. One of the Kratt brothers is really funny all the time. I think his name is Chris. He played a joke on one of the girls in the show. It was so funny.

What new things did you learn from this show? Answer from my six year old daughter: I learned about the blow fish and what their defense is, who eats them, and that their defense is really strong. Their defense makes them really puffy and they can blow up into a big ball. I learned that submarines can help people go underwater and explore, or they can also rescue sea creatures in it. I learned the dolphin’s enemy is the shark.

Do you think other kids would like this show? Answer: Yes, because the show is really fun. It will help them learn about sea animals. I think they would like the other Wild Kratt shows too to help them learn all about the animals and how they do stuff.

*In my observations while my family watched this movie, my six year old was completely engaged and learning while she watched the show, singing and dancing along to the music, and laughing many times throughout. My two year old was very intrigued and came and sat close to the TV to watch it too and would point to things on the screen. My teen son even wandered in wondering what they were watching and sat down to join them for a bit! Here is a quick look at today’s review team!

You can also check out the games and activities at PBSKIDS.org for the Wild Kratts. My daughter LOVES their entertaining games on that site.

This episode called Wild Kratts: Lost At Sea is very cool if you like learning about undersea creatures and machinery. The Kratt brothers put on unique gear and costumes to help them relate to the sea creatures. The kids become absorbed in the drama of the action and rescue scenes when the natural enemies of some of the underwater creatures are in the picture. This is mainly a cartoon, but is full of fun and lots of educational value. I would highly recommend it to any family of young children ages 2-12. Great for homeschooling too – works with science curriculum.
